Launch of Carlos Buby's TERRA DE DEUS REPENTISTA in São Paulo

A public of 450 people gathered at São Paulo's SESC Pompeia to applaude the launch of Terra de Deus Repentista.
Inspired by the contrasts of Brazil, Buby dedicates his new album to awareness about prejudice and intolerance. The album is the portrait of an artist who has been exposed early to life challenges. Even if he left his hometown in Alagoas, (northeast of Brazil) as a young boy, he never forgot the problems and feelings of his native land. Many of his songs address social differences. “I can still not adapt to so much injustice in Brazil and in the world such as hunger in the northeast of the country and infant mortality due to lack of resources as well as so many other situations, like religious intolerance. I cannot understand why people don’t react to revert this situation, says Buby.”
The song that gave its name to the CD was inspired in the courage of the northeastern cowboys. “I want to pay homage to these “men of leather” who survive the drought of insensitive hearts, in an arid land that God improvised before he concluded the Creation. Their solitary calls are laments that will never be deciphered by human indifference,” affirms Buby.
Produced by maestro Mario Campanha, “Terra de Deus Repentista” is the result of a rich mixture that reveals a vibrant Brazilian popular music, with a touch of Afro-Brazilian rhythm that ranges in styles from xote to baião, baladas, and sambas. The song “Feiticeiro Negro” reveals the prejudice against afro-Brazilian religion practitioners and calls for a change, so humans can leave behind the state of indifference they have adopted, even in the face of so many contrasts. Feiticeiro Negro’s vídeo clip already received some 15 thousand visits in its youtube site, in only two months (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPwuTd5069I). Other songs of the album also shed light over critical themes. “Das Dores” claims the respect to feminine sensibility and “Dono das Matas” points to the importance of the conservation of nature.
